MILLWALL offload AURELIO !

Millwall have sold FABIO AURELIO to Flamengo for £7m.

The 31 yr old LB/LM played a total of 23 games since joining Millwall last season helping Millwall to avoid relegation and has played well in his performances this season.

It has been well documented that Millwall have had financial problems this season and funds had to be raised quickly. For example, Millwall's latest home match against Sheffield Wednesday actually made a loss financially which was surprising considering that it was the Match of the Day.

Millwall manager statement to fans.
"I can confirm that AURELIO has been sold to Flamengo for £7m. He wouldn't have been sold if our finances were in the black but it was an unfortunate position for the club to be in. We had to balance the books and work within our means.
On the pitch we are in good form with a good run of results.
I was hoping to do my homework on Peterborough before our next game and find it a distraction to be dealing with off the field matters at this important stage of the fixture list.
We have huge games coming up shortly after our big match vs Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend. My players responded well after going behind late on and fought back to earn a point with a 1-1 draw.  Hopefully we can replace AURELIO quickly to help strengthen our squad and we can start to deal with on the field activities in this important phase of the season".
