CRAIG - 300 NOT OUT

MILWALL MANAGER APPROACHES 300TH MATCH

It's been 7 and a half seasons, 2 different divisions, 299 matches but only ONE MANAGER - Craig.

It's been a rollercoaster ride from the day I took control.

It was season 1 and Millwall were 17th with only 5 games to go.
Craig noticed Millwall were unmanaged and fancied the challenge to save them from relegation to D4.

It went down to the last game of the season and Millwall were away at Charlton and a win would guarantee them safety in D3

Millwall won 2-0 and the job was done....for now

MILLWALL finished 16th

This gave Craig a chance to rebuild the team and try to improve on their relegation battle.  A "Play-off" contender was what craig was aiming for, a bit much too soon ? but the ambition was there.

Millwall had a great response and the team were great.
So much so that Millwall finished in an amazing 6th place giving them a Play-off spot to D2. However, they lost the play-off and D3 it was to be but at least it was a great season and a far cry from 16th place like the previous season

We now prepared for season 3, hoping to keep up the challenge for a play-off again

Again we had a good season and just fell short of the play-off's as we finished in a credible 8th place.

We hoped to better 6th place in season 3 but at least we are challenging at the right end of the table.

Another good response in season 4 and we just fell short again finishing 9th. However, inside the top 10 is reasonable enough.

Season 5 saw MILLWALL put in an amazing effort to make the play-off's. Not only that but we were challenging at one point for an automatic promotion place. We ended up finishing in our highest ever place when we were 4th and a play-off was earned.
We lost the play-off and after our  best ever season we stayed in D3.

In season 6, our bubble was starting to burst. we had a poor season and were fighting relegation. Like season 1, we were trying to stay in D3 but we were at home. This helped and we won the match to finish outside the relegation zone in 17th place

Season 7 was our toughest to digest, again we were fighting relegation but this time it was not going as planned. D4 was fast approaching.

We couldn't save ourselves and we were relegated to D4 for the first time in our history as we finished 18thDirectors had said that if craig got millwall relegated, they would expect him to resign.
Craig made a statement saying that if the club were relegated he would NOT resign and start to rebuild the club.

NOW, in D4 we are nearly half-way through season 8, Millwall found themselves  8 points behind the play-off's.

Craig made changes and brought in PAVLYUCHNKO, CROUCH, CASSANI, POULSEN, MESTO, BILYALETDINIOV and with SIVOK just arriving this week to add to RAUL, EREMENKO, and on loan M'BENGUE, CAULKER, ALVARO we are ready to push for a play-off spot again and hopefully get back into D3

This was a report through the years to show our ups and downs as I approach my 300th match in charge of MILLWALL.

Saturday:  Aldershot v Millwall (craig's 300th match as manager)
