Barnsley have signed Michael Dawson from Portsmouth for £12.5m
This deal set a new transfer record for Barnsley and shows the club that their new manager means business as he tries to settle in.

"I'm delighted to have signed Michael Dawson from Portsmouth. I wanted to bolster our defence and Michael is the ideal candidate. After negotiations between both clubs we came to an agreement which set us a new transfer record and hopefully shows that I'm determined to get the best players as possible for the club. Michael will not play in our Cup match but he will be fully fit for our next league match".
