MILLWALL MATCH REPORT


MILLWALL 2 CARDIFF 1


Millwall had a fine 2-1 win against Cardiff tonight which narrowed the gap to just 4 points for a 6th place play-off position.

They importance of this match showed as Millwall scored 2 goals after only nine minutes.

I'  CISSE  spots a run by MARK NOBLE and threads the ball through.
NOBLE tries to dink it over keeper.ANDUJAR is stranded.
Goal
 GOAL!! - The ball drops over his head and over the line.

9'  NOBLE  sees CONCA in acres of space out wide and plays the pass.
CONCA  makes space for a shot and fires at goal.

 GOAL!! - The ball rolls in through the legs of the keeper.

NOBLE runs at the defence before playing a lovely through ball.BERGESSIO  cuts inside a defender and fires in a low shot.
Goal
 
GOAL!! - ANDUJAR  doesn't react in time and the ball ends up in the back of the net.

Goal ruled out for offside.
 OFFSIDE! - BERGESSIO strayed behind the defence as NOBLE made the pass.

After this explosive start Cardiff scored with a deflected goal after 30 minutes to make it 2-1 at the break.

Millwall had most of the shots (18) but Cardiff had most possession with 7 shots in total with 7 on target.

This important home result keeps Millwall in contention for a Play-off position (4 points behind)

A difficult away match at Gillingham is our next fixture.
