The Big Match

By Sirmarkhughes (Dan Malone)

(match -12 - wed 4th Dec 2013)

Liverpool [2nd ] v  Man Utd [18th]

Man United are struggling down in 18th position which is strange for a team that has won the division on more than one occasion, is this a sign of decline for Man United or just a testament to how strong the top division is becoming, Look at last year when the mighty Man City went down, could their noisy neighbors be heading down to join them? Man United stopped the rot with a first win in 7 league games with a win over Forest, is this a sign of revival or is it just the fact that Forest are woeful?The switch to 4-2-4 shows signs that Man United are trying to eradicate that bad run and they have a full team to pick from bar former Liverpool star Marcelo, Liverpool are on fire at the minute losing only 1 of their 19 games in all competitions this season, they are heading into this game in 2nd position and on an unbeaten run of 9 league games, they will be further buoyed by the fact that they beat Man United home and away last season, Liverpool are scoring for fun they have scored in 18 of the 19 games in all comps and are on an average of just under 3 per game across them games as they have scored 56 goals in the 19 games, with a full side to pick from I think it will be a home win for Liverpool by the odd goal.

Prediction 2-1

----------------------------------------------------

Fulham [3rd ] v Bury [11th]

Fulham boss Dom will take charge of his 400th Fulham game against Bury tonight, they are in decent form sitting in 3rd place and are playing Bury who have struggled since the new manager has come in, 4 defeats and a win over Forest is hardly inspiring, the way Bury are leaking goals, 19 in 5 games, is definitely a worrying trend, I think today's game looks a banker home win especially given that is a momentous day in the managers career.

Prediction 3-1

Sheffield United [6th] v Derby County [11th]

Two top sides here who look like they will be involved in the play offs at least this season, Sheffield have won 7 and drew 2 of their last 9 games in all comps and are certainly firing on all cylinders, they take on a strong Derby side who are in okay form although a bit inconsistent, I think the fact that County are missing Varane & Salvio through injury and suspension respectively will give United a slight edge and I think they will win by the odd goal.

Prediction 2-1

============================================

Brighton [7th] v Leicester [4th]

Two top sides in the division do battle, Brighton although the higher placed of the two are winless across the last 5 games that is something they will have to rectify soon or they will drop from the play off spots soon enough they take on a Leicester side who have hit a fine patch of form winning 5 of their last 6 games, both sides are missing a couple of players through injury and suspension so there will be a few changes to the sides, I think this will be a close game and a share of the spoils looks likely.

Prediction 2-2

=============================================

Norwich [1st] v Stockport County [2nd]

Without a doubt this is the biggest game of the division where Ruts top of the table Norwich take on Tony's 2nd place Stockport,Norwich boss Ruts has only been in charge for 5 games of which he has only lost 1, this is a tough game to call as both clubs have goalscorers in form with Lens bagging 5 for Norwich and Lima and Brandao on 6 &7 respectively for Stockport, they both have a player who is providing plenty of creativity with Lazzari assisting 7 for Norwich and Neves with 8 for Stockport, this all adds up to a high scoring game in the making, Norwich are unbeaten at home and Stockports away form is a bit sketchy so I think Norwich will take the 3 points in a thrilling game.

Prediction 3-2
