As Predicted by TSM, Sunderland started with 4-2-3-1 and Newcastle started with a 4-4-2


This North East Derby started with a bang after only 5 minutes. Newcastle were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box. PJANIC put his laces through it, 'keeper didn't move, what a goal!.........Toon 1-0 up.

This settled the visitors early and Sunderland were playing catch-up. However, chances were made by both teams but the visitors held out until half-time.

TSM had predicted a 3-1 away win based on current form, however, this was always going to be a typical North East Derby with pride and passion high on the agenda.
