Luke in to Shaw up defence

Luke Shaw has signed for Manchester City on loan from Fulham

Division three promotion chasers Manchester City have swopped to sign highly rated Fulham left back Luke Shaw on a emergency loan deal. the 18 year old has linked up with City after Thompson lost the services of regular full back Gael Clichy due to a three game suspension.
Shaw does bring some experience with him to the Etihad Stadium stadium having spent time out on loan earlier in the season at Birmingham City even playing against his new team mates in a 2-1 win for City back in April .

Shaw trained with his new team mates for the first time this morning and is likely to make his debut on Wednesday as City make the trip to face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road

City manager Steve Thompson spoke about his latest recruit

"I am delighted to welcome Luke into the squad after losing Gael it was imperative we tried to plug that gap and Luke fits the bill perfectly. He is still a young boy but has experience of playing in this league which is great he has worked under a great manager in Dom Latouch and he will settle well here with already knowing Hulk, Munian and Reinartz who he was with at Fulham.

At the minute this is a short term deal but if he performs we and Dom have agreed to sit down and talk and see about extending it for a little longer. He won't play in any cup games during his time here"
