Barnsley sent shock waves through D3 as they hammered 2nd placed QPR, 1-6
Barnsley were clinical in front of goal with 6 shots on target with ALL of them goals. Fletcher opened the scoring after only 11 minutes, Schwegler made it 2-0 on 16 mins. This was the ideal start that settled us. Defoe put the away side 3-0 up after 37 mins which was to be the Half-Time score.
At the interval, manager - Craig - Substituted Fletcher for Barrios and he made it 4-0 on 69 mins which was to be the nail in the coffin for the home team. Defoe quickly added the 5th on 73mins to put the travelling supporters in heaven at 0-5. QPR pulled one back after 77 mins but Pandev made it 1-6 on 89 mins.
Man of the Match - BARRIOS
Our 5-3-2 formation worked well but we will continue to vary our tactics and hope to take our chances like tonight to help us to equal or better our 6th place finish last season. A lot of work ahead of us but tonight was a sign of what we can do with our squad fully fit.
This result moved Barnsley up two places to 15th place. We hope to continue with this form as we face Ipswich at home in our next league fixture.
