MILLWALL REPORT

MILLWALL FC

Millwall had a poor season last term and brought in a few new players to bolster the squad. Edinaldo GRAFITE  was brought in at the end of the season. Marouane CHAMAKH F(C) was also added to the squad, Wes BROWN  was a late addition just in time to play in our opening fixture away at Crystal Palace.

An away match at Palace is the last game we would've wanted to start with, however it is a huge test for the team.

CRYSTAL PALACE 0 MILLWALL 2

Millwall opened the season with a fine 2-0 win away at Palace. CHAMAKH scored with a bullet header on 20 minutes to give Millwall an early advantage.
Five minutes later CHAMAKH made it 2-0 when he slid the ball in from a NIANG pass.

Man of the Match:  CHAMAKH (Millwall)

MILLWALL had 52%/48% possession and managed to hold their two goal lead to claim the points.

Footnote:  Millwall's CAPDEVILA & FRIEDRICH were both injured and will both miss at least 2 matches each.

Millwall manager PRESS CONFERENCE

"We are delighted to come away with all 3-points in a tough away match, they don't get much bigger than this.
I'm Disappointing to see we have two injuries to our defence. We will need to shuffle things round to try and cover for our next match on Wednesday against Northampton Town, all in though, it was a great start to the season for MILLWALL".
